At Happy Apples, we are proud to grow our own apples in 200 acres of rich, Marthasville Missouri soil. By owning our own orchards, we have full oversight and control from harvest to household, making sure that every apple is planted, picked, and packaged for a crisp, gooey caramel apple experience, every time. 

As farmers first, we understand the intricacies and nuances of what makes a good caramel apple. From firmness and resilience to the perfect balance of tart and sweet.  

We primarily use Jonathan and Granny Smith varieties, chosen for their tartness, firmness, and ability to hold up well during the caramelization and packaging process. Unlike softer apples, Jonathan and Granny Smith apples maintain their crisp texture and a bright pop of juicy flavor, ensuring every bite is a perfect balance of tart and sweet.

Our Commitment to Reducing Waste 

With a commitment to reduce unnecessary waste, apples that are not the optimum size or quality for our caramel apples are repurposed through orchard-fresh bags of apples and cider, ensuring that every apple happily serves a purpose.
